My first pistol narrowed down...

I have a norinco 1911. Many people thinks it's an inaccurate pile of ####. I don't see them volunteering to stand 25 yards down range of me.
hitting a six feet target at 25yards don't make a gun accurate  any gun can do that...

He asked his opinion based on fun, esthetics, and resale. Nowhere did he mention anything about an airsoft. You brought it on yourself. If he wants a gun that looks tactical so be it. He asked for advice on the best choice of three mentioned guns.

I bet you have that pic of an Indian Lamborghini as your avatar because of the way it looks!! Why not get a hotwheels instead of the real thing? ####in hypocrite. Yeah I probably need to chill out.
And I replied giving my opinion based on factors that should be considered for buying a handgun if you intend to use it..not sit and look at it. I get paid to train people how to shoot them..so my opinion is a bit biased towards having to actually use it for it's intended purpose.
I'm a bit confused as to how my reply to him entitled you to go off, but..life goes on.
As for my avatar..it's as close as I could find at the time to a pic of my car. So how does that make me a hypocrite?

lol, who said anything about him sitting and looking at his pistol? In everything we purchase (you and me included) esthetics plays a role, that was my point. If he likes the looks of it, good for him, it doesn't mean he needs an airsoft.

I love shooting. what firearm I am shooting is easily half the fun. we are all in this together. get used to it.

This thread has served little purpose - mods lock it , its dead.

OK - I have heeded the advice of many and abandoned the idea of a 22 cal for a first

I now have these, in mind and in this order. the caliber of choice is going to be .40 S&W. This is for certain.

One factor is tactical goodies equalled off against resale.

1) Walther P99 Military Edition
2) Baby Eagle Chromed
3) Steyr M40 A-1 (not sure where to find one of these)

SIG P226 .40S&W - the above 3 are not even in second place
Add a .357Sig barrel and a 9mm barsto barrel and you have 3 guns in one

if you can't buy a pistol based on how much you like it's looks, then what's the point? Ignore the bozo's saying it should be purchased for the reasons they think are valid, and purchase it for the reasons you think are. That's all that matters. No point in buying something you don't like. That's like dating a girl cuz everyone tells you she has a nice personality. Oh yippee another road hog, but she's nice. Sorry I'll take the good looking one first and find out if I like her later.

 , seriously, I just about laughed till I hurt myself...owwwwwy.
Slavex >>>>meet Loraina Bobbett >>>>don't she look purrrdy

The arguments in this thread are so goofy. First of all you need to have a practicality issue. There are lots of great looking guns that are total crap (PM me if you want the list..LOL). So if you buy it thinking its a beauty, and its crap, guess what (well in Slavexs case he will end up peeing from a sitting position  ). And that will affect resale value etc.

At the end of the day though, buy the best looking of whats good.

So 007, get the baby eagle, they are a good looking, usually reliable gun. If you can try it for fit first. You seem to be making a reasonably sound judgement to me.

I like to buy guns for features, but Lord knows there are alot of people here who like to buy them based on ### appeal and zippy appearances.
Your decision is as valid as anyone elses.

Obviously you've already made up your mind regarding which cal. your first handgun should be. I trust you have engaged the services of a high caliber pistol coach to properly teach you: Stance, position, grip, sight alignment, breathing, mental preparation, trigger control, follow-through, analysis. In case you are wondering: these are the fundamentals you need you master in order to become a half-decent pistol shot.
Then when you have mastered all these fundamentals you need coaching in safe and correct reloading techniques so you won't blow yourself up as a result. In other words I would not ever recommend buying a centre-fire pistol as a first handgun. You should be buying as good target grade Air Pistol as your first handgun, diligently practice all the basics and the proceed to a .22 cal. handgun. But that would take a lot of time, eh? It sounds to me, and I may be wrong here, that you are buying a "real gun" mainly as an ego-booster rather than to practice pistol craft. Just one man"s opinion. Good luck anyway.
