Something in 9mm would be my choice, shoot or hold as many as you can and go off of that. Once you narrow it down to your top three you will be in the ball park. Lots of options to choose from.
Thanks for all the advice guys, I think I agree about starting with the .22. It will let me know how much I enjoy the pistol option without spending a ton on ammo. Pockets aren't deep enough to support multiple disciplines so sort of need to figure out first where I want to spend the bulk of my ammo funding. I'm also in the middle of an M14 build and saving for an AR...so keeping ammo costs down makes sense for now.
That would be awesome....although Silverdale is a hike for me, I'm up by Barrie. With that said, Silverdale is on the bucket list if I can escape the family stuff! I'll tuck this away and look you up should I be able to schedule a day trip down there.

Check out the new Walther PPX Range Kit, great value for what you get. My wife just ordered one in 9mm.
I have had two S&W's still have the M&P9 and have a Styer M9A1. Love both but will repeat what has been said if you can afford it get a CZ of any sort. They are a piece of art on motion. There winners and almost any competition will have a CZ winner in the top three! IMHO
