hello. noob here. this is my first post but i have been roaming around the forums for a bit. anyways im getting my PAL and R-PAL in 2 weeks and to start my collection i would like to get a 1911. i have been looking at a lot of different manufacturers and im looking for an original look, something spec to the original as much as possible. i know the more i spend the better quality but i hope there is a decent pistol for a lower price out there. the Springfield Armory 1911 G.I. drew my eye, does anybody have any suggestions ?

If you want original MIL spec then go for Norinco. Remember that the original spec was not for a target gun.

im not so much looking for target shooting capabilities as i am durability and authenticity. basically i don't want a cheap crappy pistol, i want a nice looking 1911 built to last.

but i just saw the Norinco and it looks beautiful. the only thing is i wanted a ring hammer but something like that can just be bought alone and put on right ?

Take a look at the Colt WWI Reissue.
I heard they're a beautiful looking pistol and close to the original spec.

and Lef T that colt is very nice but don't they cost way more than other manufacturers
