thinking 92fs?? or the taurus version.

take down looks pretty simple, anything negative about these? they look awesome and ive been a fan since Lethal Weapon. what is cap of the normal length mag 10 or 15?

what would i expect to pay for one in good-excellent condition.
im totally a newb with pistols

Don't buy a pistol just 'cause you saw it in a movie or TV show & thought it looked cool..... ;)

There is certainly nothing wrong with the Beretta 92 series pistols but make sure the pistol "fits" you before shelling out your hard earned money. Try a number of different pistols in the cartridge/action that you are looking for. You may find something like a S&W M&P, or Glock 17, or CZ 75/85, or BHP fit your hand better than a Beretta 92 series.

Mag capacity for any pistol is limited to 10 rounds.

NAA.

Beretta 92/9mm is a good choice for the first pistol
a reliable accurate and ballanced shooter, I never have problems with any of my Berettas.
look for an used one in EE forum, price can be btw 600-900 depend on pistol condition, rounds mileage and of course extra accessories...
my personal advise find one at your range and shoot it first before you buy!
wish you good luck!

Beretta is a nice pistol, feels solid in your hand, the mag release seemed tucked into the grip when I tried one and I couldn't hit it easily without moving my entire hand over.

I saw the 92fs new at Target Sports for $785+tax, so it's a great price compared to some other models - and all metal!

ive handled it and a 1911 like them both but 92fs seems more reliable in design.

and i don't care it does look cool.

so i should definatley shoot it locally before buying? not just order one online for a hundred bucks cheaper?

^ I agree about the mag release. Very difficult to hit. Also couldn't stand the safety being on the slide making it clumsy to rake the slide. Other than that its a great pistol. I prefer the CZ's for a all metal pistol.

I think it's still an excellent pistol!

The owner who let me shoot it brought up a good point if you will be entering competition you should definitely be able to hit the mag release easily - that could be a deal breaker unless you want to mod and get an extended release button.

If you have average hands it should fit pretty comfortably, I mean there is always a chance you won't like it buying sight-unseen but at the same time if you dont have freakishly big or small hands it should fit good. If you aren't that picky you will probably get used to any inconvenience factor in a few days at the range anyway.

For me though, I wanted to hold it in my hands first because I want my first pistol to last me a long time and I don't want to regret my decision. The Sig fits me better and even though it costs more than the Beretta it's the one I want to purchase

I handled one at local range 92sb, fits perfect and price is right. putting it on layway. cant wait.

mag release and everything was built for my hands, no other piece in stock felt so nice

if your hands are on the larger side, the beretta is much nicer to hold than a 1911 unless you get thick grips for the 1911 (or grip spacers, or a double-stack version).

i liked almost everything about the beretta / taurus, except that half of the shells eject right into my face. since the slide is open, there isn't a port that limits where the shells fly. but the flip side is that it's SUPER easy to manually chamber a round or to check that the chamber is clear and empty when doing competitive shoots.

suffice it to say that i did NOT buy one... at least not yet.

i've got a Beretta M9 and it's my favourite pistol out of all the 9mm guns i've shot. Fits me like a glove.

if it fits you, you'll be happy with it.

mine ejects the empty shells into a nice neat little pile to my right - super reliable that way. makes collecting the brass a pleasure.
