got my new gun today, a very barely used G19, with the proper length barrel (yes I have 12-6). Nice little toy, forgot to grab the holster for it though. Next time I guess.
I'll be taking it out Friday night for a test drive at the range. Looking forward to it.

Hey Rob!

I've got a G19 as well that I got for a song. Second Gen and an awesome little gun! Super accurate but a hard gun to master! I bought mine for a slightly different reason than yours but I did use mine in Production for about 3 months and it worked well.

I was sold on Glock after that.

Hmm, funny, I was just talking to Jim and he mentionned you hated Glocks...

I need to show you my new G22. I am no expert, but looks like the slide is loose.

so put 300 or so rounds through the G19 today. Hate the stupid factory adjustable sights. gotta get night sights for it ASAP. it shot well, took me awhile to get used to it and the trigger pull, but 1.5 inch groups at 15 yds were pretty easy to do, not slow fire either.
My hand is pretty cut up though, I just grip Glocks too high. From previous range trips with other peoples guns I had thought I didn't do this on the G19 and G23. I was wrong, I do, and have two nice rail marks cut into my strong hand. I am sure with time it'll callous up though, as I don't intend to change my grip.
Tomorrow night it'll probably see another 300-400 rounds through it.
One thing that has me wondering though is the breach face. It looks like ####. This gun was basically brand new, maybe 200 rounds through it, and I doubt that much. All parts are original. The breach face looks like someone took a chisel to it, or let it rust for 10 years and then removed the rust, leaving pitting behind. In talking to a bunch of other Glock owners, especially ones with 19's, 23's and 27's, this is fairly common. What's the deal?

My Glock 23 (2nd Gen) has the same marks on the bolt face.I was told when I got it some 15 years ago that its just tool marks. It has not affected mine
at all.Mine has well over 45,000 rds (this includes everything from hand loads
to hot defensive loads.) through it with out any problems. Its more reliable than anything I have seen or shot. when other pistols wouldnt feed hand loads she just kept spitting them out with out a hitch.no KA BOOMs as some
have had.only mods have been night sight , several guide rod/springs have been replaced, and pleas dont put on one of those hogue condoms on it.
use skate board tape or better yet if your serious stiple it.
and if you do need service new parts can be had ina week or so some
times less than that.
the more you shoot it the less atractive those Berettas are going to seem.LOL.
enjoy and soon you to will be standing up and saying."my name is Slavex and I'm a Glockaholic."

regards

Slavex, you bought the most size effiecient 9mm service pistol made. I prefer steel and wood but I sure do like my Glocks. Enjoy your new toy. Regards, Richard :D

Slavex's G19: ( if you don't tell them I won't blab that it isn't yours)

Congrats Slavex! A prohib. 2nd generation G19 was my first Glock too...I love it.

I sure wish I was able to find a 12(6) G26 to go with it!

Nice choice, I like the 19 alot better than the 17..seems to be about the right size

The Glock 19 may be the perfect "if I can only have 1 gun" pistol. It is really popular with NYPD cops who use it as a on duty and off duty piece.

I concur that that G19 is one of the best, if not the best carry gun.
Played around some more tonight, still prefer the Beretta, but I like the G19 just fine. It'll be a good trainer gun for students too.
