I know these are pretty common and we've all seen a million of these before but this is my first one so I thought I'd post it up. Pretty standard Port, later production. Condition isn't the greatest and the safety doesn't match but still a nice k98k. Not sanded or refurbed or anything like that, just an honest, well used, matching unit.

If I may ask what does an all matching Portuguese mauser go for, lets say in fair-good condition with fair bore and typical age wear. Go with the Mauser-Oberndorf 1941 for exact model. Well marked and matching. Very curious about these rifles. Thanks.

Nice Jeremy! I like the stock alot, looks good.

sigrune- A mint port with matching bayo will bring over $2k. A used but stilldecent matching rifle should be around $15-1700 a recent prices.

That's a beauty! Congrats on your purchase brother. I was shooting an RC k98 the other day and with Norma ammo, I managed to pull of a 1 inch group at about 75-80 yrds. Probably a lucky group but still I was very impressed

The 0.2 marking is on armorers spares and replacement barrels like the one on my depot build.

Not sure why it would have to have this marking for it to have seen German use? I think I remember reading that the Ports diverted to German use have the e/H mark applied to the stock but not sure. This one does not have the Heer acceptance marking.

Any decent Port 98k is a great find. Especially one in decent condition.

They were never plentiful and all that I've seen, bear the Waffenamp stamps on both stock and metal.

There are a few absolutely pristine rifles around but they are few and far between.

I used to pick them up New in Grease, $90. Those days are long gone as is Castle Armory.

They, like the Brazilian 1908, 1935 and some of the Middle East contracts were some of the nicest of the K98s made. They were done right and well.
