So on Thursday I got a delivery from Stoeger Canada, my rifle I've been waiting on for 7 months finally showed up!

Today I got to take her out to the range and break her in, and shoot some groups! Lots of fun, can't believe I've waited so long so get a bolt gun :D

So special ordered from stoeger, a Tikka T3 Tactical in .308 with a 20" barrel. I wanted something a little shorter and stiffer since I'm probably not going to be using this for any longer range stuff, if I can work out to 500 or 600 yards with this I'd be really happy!

Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 first focal plane in milirads, on an ADM mount (more for the solidness and stiffness of the mount than the QR ability)

Last group of the day I shot, I was doing a snoopy dance when I did this one, probably luck though :p

5-shot group at 100 yards using the Hornady A-max in a 168 grain, measured at 0.875" from centre to centre of the farthest apart 2 holes.

Very impressed with the rifle, the 20" barrel actually makes it quite handy, I may even use the QR feature and get some iron sights put on, but who knows.

I have the SAKO muzzle brake for it as well. The first shot I took with the muzzle brake on I think rattled my head! I always knew brakes were loud, but I didn't think it would be so bad! Took it off and had no problems for the rest of the day :p

Thanks guys, I'm going out hopefully again this weekend and doing some more shootin' :D

This thing may end up being my favorite, but it'll take some work to usurp my USC/UMP conversion ;)

great rig you got
now, just get a good quality reloading set up and you will put them all in one hole

Yep, already got some good dies for my press, need a nice powder measure ( and eventually case trimmer and the case prep tools) and I've already collected all the brass from the last trip.

I'm used to reloading .45 for my handgun/carbine in bulk so I've been reloading for a while, but doing this precision loading stuff will be a little new to me. Luckily I have a few friends that are into reloading precision stuff so I have lots of good resources!

Great lookin gun, How'd you like the Viper

Really nice scope, nice and bright and adjustments are great. The reticle works very well, and I didn't find it was too thick, although I haven't gotten it out to longer ranges the crosshairs were nice and visible but still nice and thin for longer range stuff. Not too heavy or bulky either. The 4-16 power range may be a tad limiting in the long run for a target gun, but I plan on getting a Mark12 Mod-0 AR15 clone one day anyways, so that can go on there! I would not hesitate to go with the PST 6-24!

Nice thing about the 4-16 though, is you can easily take it out hunting. Even with the heavy barrel this gun isn't really that bulky or uncomfortable to carry. It balance very well, so without the brake it's nice and handy.

Got some more pics of her with the muzzle brake on. One shot of the reticle, hard to get a good shot with a camera when you're not outside with all the light!

At 16x on the scope. Picture definitely doesn't do the scope justice.

Congrats on the new precision rig! You chose probably the nicest factory offering at a reasonable price, you will quickly learn there is no need to spend thousands of $$ to get a great shooting rifle. I like your choice of optics too, I have a couple of them and they work great.
