My First reloading related 3d Printing

In the Air Force there is a nickname for personal projects made with workshop equipment and tools. They are called rabbits. It is entirely on the supervisors' discretion whether to let something go ahead or not. But the advantage is for young technicians there are only so many workshop or office installations possible as apprentice assignments. If the project requires some machining, sewing, or precision measuring, why stop it? And it gives the tech a chance to get excited about learning how to use their equipment.
 
2nd version printed. I like this version for pistols due to storage space for LNL AP Shell plate.
2nd one took 8.5hrs to print, 1st one was just over 12 hrs.

I’ve been looking at getting into the 3D Printer game.

Any idea on material costs to print something like the second version die + shell plate holder?
Can you modify an existing online file such as this one?
For example if you wanted to add a 4th die hole.
 
I am far from being an expert.

2nd project weights 73grams according to the splicer program that came with the Dremel 3D45 printer($2500.00).
A 1000grm/1kg PETG filament roll costs as low as $35.00+ taxes & shipping.

Need a cad program to alter the .PTL files.

Hey, Diopter, check out the 3D printed case feeder for the LnL press on Thingiverse. I printed one and it works great! I also printed some bullet feeder dies. I was impressed at how well the 7/8-14 threads turned out.

Tempted. Sorely. I have to do it after work hours so time is a factor.

I just picked up a Creality CR6-SE on Friday.
I’m making small things just to get used to it for the time being.
I already have a case feeder and pistol bullet feeder but I plan on making the rifle bullet collator.
I’ll make a new thread once I start on it.

Diopter, It’s all your fault LOL.

I'm restraining myself from buying one of the CR6-SE myself for home.

Yes from Abra.

There is definitely a learning curve with PETG.
It’s a little finicky as far as it not wanting to adhere to the bed.

The roll of PLA that came with the machine was much easier to get started with.

This thing has been running non stop since Friday evening LOL.

I’m not but I’ve been reading up about different ways to make it adhere better.
Right now I’m running the first 2 layers at a much slower speed and with the cooling fan off.
After the first 2 layers I increase the speed and start the fan.

I’m also trying 0.2mm layers. Up to now everything I did was 0.1mm which is why everything took forever to complete.

This is all new to me. I’ve never done anything like this before.
