Recieved y card in the mail yesterday and it was all i could do to wait until I helped the wife with our youngest and sent them off for the day, before I went down to Chilliwack Dart and Tackle and bought my first rifle/firearm period.

A 1950 Tula SKS #1626 - Arsenal refinished with a mis matched barrel, all other pieces all original. The bore is mirror like, clear stamping on the butt, just a few chips in the shellac. Nice tight fit to the stock, took some effort to separate the two for cosmo removal. I used brake clean on the barrel, boiled all other components in a mild soap solution. Baked the stock at 165 for about the time it took to clean the rest of the parts, wrapped in an old pillow case/rag. Sweated out a good amount of cosmo. Should add that this rifle has the spring loaded firing pin. And the best part, the Mosin should be here tomorrow!! (Squeal!!)

Nice looking hardwood SKS. Most have renumbered stocks that I have seen.

Oh, and the spring loaded fiting pin is just a gimmick, and totally unnecessary if you plan on cleaning your gun :)

Welcome aboard, very nice rifle. It may be a non refurb - do you have pics of the right side buttstock and around the crossbolts on the stock? There are all kinds of gobbledegook stamps on SKS barrels, and none of them are serieal numbers. Don't worry about those not matching.

And others just for good measure!

Natural light always looks so much better!

There is no such thing as a serial number on a barrel. It stamped on the receiver instead.
it seems to me you have a nice non-ref

Knuckles, can I ask you a favor and post a picture of rifle's muzzle with a shot taken straight at the muzzle? This is the last measure to say for sure that it is indeed non-refurbished one.

Cool, thanks! You got it in the original condition, congratulations!

Few days ago I spotted a batch of SKSs having all signs of non-refurbished rifles, except that a muzzle on all of them was sawed off flat and a chamfer restored afterwards. Not in your case.
