after owning a couple dozen centerfires ranging from 221 Fireball to 416 Rem Mag, I finally have purchased my *first* rimfire rifle

nothing fancy either, which will be good for what I'll use it for

Picked up a Savage Mark II-F 22LR. Plain jane synthetic stocked bolt action 10 shot mag with the Accutrigger. Topped with a 3-9x32 Bushnell rimfire scope, mounted in the supplied rings. The scope is usable but the rings are absolute ####. I knew that, but they'll work for now...total cash laid out with tax is a bit less than $200 :D

If I can have golfball accuracy at 35 yards I will be happy...as this will be a close range varmint rig.

Range report to follow sometime soon, maybe tonight if I can get out

well I fired about 60-75 rounds through it tonight. It feeds pretty good, and the clip is pretty easy to load.

American Eagle HP shot the best, around 3/4" @ 50y for 10 shots. Winchester T22 & Federal GoldMedal didnt do as well as I'd expected, around 1.5" 10 shots @ 50y.

CCI CB Long were fun to shoot :D THey hit about 3" below point of aim at 35 yards. I love the sound they make. THWWAP! Like a big pellet gun.

I finished the range trip by lettin loose on the 200 meter steel gong for about 30 rounds. Once I figured out the required holdover I was hittin it pretty consistently! :dancingbanana: Good fun

Now I need to kill a crow with this thing to make me real super happy

nothing pretty but here it is

I'd reccomend it to someone who is looking for a low cost repeating rimfire that has a pretty good trigger on it. For $200 or less its hard to go wrong.

Tod, if I were you, I'd pick up a set of Leupold rings. I have a set holding my Tasco 3-9x40 on my Lakefield, and they do the trick. Cost me about $15 last year when I bought them when this scope was sitting on my Cooey.
