My first RPAL transfer... Question re: ATT

Hey there guys,

I recently (as in very recently) received my RPAL and purchased three guns in one shot yesterday (a Glock 17, a 357 mag revolver and a .22LR revolver). The seller already gave me the reference number and told me that I'd have to call the CFO to finalize the transfer/ATT request.

However, after I left the seller's shop, I went to sign up at a range over here in Montreal (CTVSP). The guys there were nice enough to give me a photocopy of my club membership and filled out an ATT request form for me, so that I can transport my handguns to the range every day (and even gave me a pre-addressed envelope to send to the CFO on top of it all - Now that's service, lol!).

So, I've reviewed & mailed in that form (with a photocopy of my membership) to the CFO yesterday and tried calling them today, but to no avail (phone line busy all the time). The only place I was able to get through was Miramichi and they confirmed that a transfer has been initiated and sent to the Quebec CFO.

Here's my question: Do I still have more forms to fill out in order to receive an ATT from the seller's shop to my house? or does the request for a club ATT cover it all? I tried to give the CFO a call, but looks like they've not been answering the phone all day today.

Thanks in advance for the info and Happy Holidays to all! Hopefully 2009 brings us all happiness and abolishes the gun registry, lol!

Is the seller's shop also a gunsmithing shop? My LATT covers to and from approved ranges and gunsmiths so from a store that is also a gunsmith would be okay.

If that doesn't work out then you'll need a short term ATT. When I've needed one to go to or from the post office, I've just called the CFC and got it emailed to me the same day.

Yeah, a short term ATT would work for me for now... all I need is to retrieve my guns once the transfer is approved, the range ATT can wait. If I can do it by phone, that's great news.

Unfortunately, the seller's shop is not a gunsmith however.. it's just a firearm selling place. I guess I'll give the CFO a call next Monday, lol... since they've seemed to be on vacation already today.

when you get a confirmation letter from the quebec cfo saying your guns are registered, you will get in the same letter a statt(short-term-att).
i believe you have to wait to get the reg.cert. from the feds(cfc) before you can pick them up.
the statt is good for a month.
this is what happened to me for my last 2 restricteds(they came by mail so i had to pick them up at can-post).
