My first semi-auto pistol - What do you recommend?

Pre-owned is no longer good deal because Quester sell brand new 226 for $899.95. Not a bad price for a Sig.

I was looking at the PDF for the P226 on the Sig website and it says there is a .22 conversion kit available for it too. I haven't been able to find it anywhere on their website though.

I agree with getting your hands on a .22 to learn the basics properly.

I borrowed a friends Ruger for this purpose and it helped a great deal. They are not expensive to pick up used and are easily to resell.

My semi-auto is a Sig P226 in 9mm. Dependable, accurate and easy to maintain. Not to mention that ammo is fairly cheap.

I picked mine up second hand and have not been disappointed.

buy a good .22 semi-auto pistol and learn to use it. ammo is cheap....5000 rounds......$300.00 and spare magazines. you will find that you will own it for life. my first was a brn challenger .22 and I still have it. 40 years!

What about a CZ with the optional .22 barrel? That way you can swap barrels to shoot .22 and shoot 9mm with the same gun, thereby learning to shoot your very same own gun with cheap ammo.

Anything new about guns, the State side will take the first drop of blood. I guess we have to wait a little while?
