My first shotgun... but which one?

I'm going to be getting my gun licence in a month and I figured my best bet for an all around gun would be a shot gun. I was hoping I could get some advice on which gun I should get. For sure I know I'm going to be going duck and deer hunting maybe some small game.
My only problem is I don't have a huge budget (100-150max) I figure im going to have to go used. I need something to get me through the door.
Thanks for your help

You can buy an old CIL single shot 12 gauge 2.75" chamber for about $150. They usually come with full choked barrels, but they're sturdy and reliable. My dad bought one for grouse around 1960 and I still take it out on occasion, it's particularly sweet on long shots and always knocks them dead, 55 years later. They were made in Brazil.

So due to a generous donation from a very nice CGNer, my budget has gone up quite a bit! Now instead of looking at junky guns im looking at two pump action shotguns. The remi 870 express and the mossberg 500 all purpose. Does anyone have any thoughts on these fire arms? pluses minuses? Feel free to throw a third gun into the mix.

Have a look at the Winchester SXP pump combo with two barrels you may be impressed.

The Benelli Nova is another excellent pump action that you may wish to look at......very well made and should offer years of service with maintenance and care. Used ones show up on CGN EE such as the example below.

Important thing to remember though, there will be a need to ensure that the shotgun, regardless of brand, fits the individual prior to making a selection - this is essential for wingshooting.
