20x rifled slugs
10x 00-bucks
45x 7.5 target loads
(all 2.75")

The recoil is pretty huge with slugs but completely controllable, not painful, and just plain fun.

From rifle experience, my eyes like ghost rings so that's what I have on this shotgun. I was almost looking forward to having to play with the windage & elevation but without adjustment I was able to put 5 slugs into an 8.5x11" piece of paper at 50 yards. Once. ;) Could repeatedly put all 9 pellets on paper from 15 yards with each 00 round. I don't know if that's considered lame or not but I'm very content for now with that.

Great gun!

Looking forward to trying it against some clays. It was suggested in another thread that Abbotsford or Poco ranges might be cool with a newbie behind a 12.5" barrel but that the Vancouver (Richmond?) club might not be. I'll give them a call...

I agree. I took my grizz out today for the first time. Fed it 2.75's and 3's birdshot, buck, and slugs. no problems, but lots of fun. The recoil was not bad at all, far less than my old cooey single shot. The shotgun is very, very loud! I had forgot earplugs and I was out of town in the bush. The birdshot was loud, the 3" slug was painful on the ears. Definately want some hearing protection.

Agreed. Loud as hell. Slugs. So I double-bagged (plugs & muffs).

BTW, should mention that the effort to clean all the sticky factory grease off and out of the shotgun was worth it... (Used Ballistol and a stainless tornado brush.) It didn't take long and now I understand just how simple and well made (read: heavy) the gun is. The end cap and yellow follower have a slotted fit in the magazine tube that's different (better) than 870s I've seen.

i couldnt figure out how to get out the follwer. any advice?

It's a bit different than an 870 follower. Needs a 90-degree (or less) rotation to work around the indents in the cap end of the mag tube. Ditto for the end cap itself -- it doesn't just pop out like a friction fit because it's slotted also.
