I just got my first Russian SKS last week and I am trying to determin if the barrel is chromed or not.
I picked it out becuase it has all matching serial numbers with the white background and nothing seems force matched.
Everything is of the oldest designs and the date on the stock says 1950. Its a tula of course and I'm wondering if the barrel is chrome or not since apparently some of the guns made in 1950 were still regular bores. Is it obviously looking that it would be much brighter if the barrel is chromed?
Also its kind of hard to make out but I'm pretty sure there is a refurb stamp on it as well, although like I said everything is matching.
