Great pictures, and story. Nice looking buck too. I noticed the antlers were not in velvet. All the deer in my area, south east Alberta, still have velvet, and lots of it. Northern climate have anything to do with the early rub?

Hmm good question but no idea i have seen a couple deers around that time still in velvet but i really dont know.

Congrats,
80% of my big bucks come form traditional archery gear. And its a big change in hunting tactics, but an easy one, just make the shooting box smaller, and move it in the thick stuff.
