My First Sxs Shotgun

I went out this weekend and patterned my shot gun, i only got a chance to pattern three of the choke's - Full, Modified, Cylinder. The distance that i used was roughly 30 yard's { forgot my tape}, the ammo that i used was Winchester target loads 2.75 inch,2.75 Dram,1145 FPS ,#8 lead shot. The full choke was still pretty tight at that distance but a nice pattern over all. The Modifided choke had a very nice spread at 30 yards, it covered the 30 inch target with no noticable space's in the pattern anywere. The Cylinder choke had quite a few large space's in the pattern but 30 yard's is a little far.On a side note i went to the Kamloops gun show on saturday and i happened to meet Jonatan Lyren from Wide North Ltd who carries the full line of Yildiz shot guns so if any one is looking his phone number is 1-403-820-5100 or there web page is WideNorth.com. Here are some more pic's of my shot gun as well

The yildiz is holding up great, i have had it out shooting informal trap (a few guys get together and hand throw some clays).about six or seven times so far.The modifided/ improved cylinder seem to be the choke's of choice for the ranges that we throw (25-40 yards).I average about 75-100 rounds through the gun each time i go out and everything is staying nice and tight. It is by far the best shotgun i have ever used and i'm looking forward to getting a 20 gauge to match the 12 that i'm shooting now. I would definetly recommend getting one of these if your in the market for a new shotgun.

Thanks for the update... while initial reports are always interesting... a report later in the season, or as it ages, speaks volumes about the gun... especially one that is "less known"... I'm very excited to hear that it's keeping up!

Sherlockbonez...Frontier has them on their web site... see the top of the page... From what I understand, Wide North is the Canadian importer... but I've sent them two e-mails enquiring about buying one of these guns, and they have never responded... Marlin at Frontier has been very helpful... and now I'm in scrounging mode... trying to scrape together my pennies... my wife and I had a garage sale today... so I'm a bit closer!
