:dancingbanana: Well I finally bought my first little toy. It's a Ruger 10/22 carbine from 1988. Been kept in excellent shape, very clean with a Bushnell 4x scope and a 30 round Eagle magazine. Hopefully tonight I will be able to run a couple hundred rounds through it. Now I'm just waiting for MysticPlayer to get in his next shipment of ArchAngel kits for it!!!!!

Cool I just bought my second 10/22 at Bass pro in Calgary. Blued, wood stock, $229. Let me know how that mag works. The hot lips ones I bought were crap, returned them. One didn't even work. Bolt wouldn't close with it in.

But nice choice. Great guns.

Good for you. My first purchase was a 10/22 too. Is it just me or does the scope need to be rotated 90 degrees to the right?

I just bought mine too, aswell went shooting with it at Sibbald Creek range. Sweet little gun. No problems with my BC hotlips clip, the only problem is that I have droped another $200 on a new stock and nick nacs. I ll post it when I get it put together!!

This one works pretty well. It is supposed to be a 30 rounder but anything more than 25 and it doesn't feed very well. So I just load it with 25 or so. I put 200 rounds through it today and had maybe 3 or 4 rounds that didn't load. Other than that, it works pretty well for a magazine thats almost 20 years old now.

And yes, I'm a lefty. So the scope is good to go where it is. I just have to figure out how to dial it in now! lol

I'm not trying to jack your thread, but I started out with a lonely 10/22 blued plain jane carbine also (this is where the sickness begins).
It can really get a hold of you once you start.....:runaway:
This is where I sit with 10/22's today.

Thats a beautiful collection there. I was thinking about getting the Tapco stock that you have there but once I saw the ArchAngel kit from Promag, there was no going back. Hopefully they will be in by early June.

Sounds like we are in the same boat here. I don't think I'm going to change my barrel though. Seems like the ones I want are all over $200. I would rather put that money towards my next purchase. (remington 870). The auto bolt release I'm going to do myself, but I will definitely get the buffer. I didn't put much thought into the hammer either. It has functioned flawlessly so far so I figured I would leave it for now.

What do you have for optics? My Bushnell 4x scope works fine and all, but once I get that Archangel kit I'm switching over to a red dot.

well so far i got the vq bolt release installed, tuffer buffer, and vq mag release (probably switch the the mag release that comes with the archangel). vq extractor, pc hammer and sear are ordered. going with a green mountain barrel and some kind of flash suppressor from yankee hill.

as for optics probably some knock off aimpoint red dot or something.
