I was looking into buying a Switchview Lever for my Vortex PST 1-4x until I realized that they cost about $60.00.

So I decided to pick up a pipe fastener at Home Hardware for $1.69. Although there is no large lever on the fastener to rotate the zoom, I found that the notch where the screw fits in provided sufficient area for me to operate the zoom with the side of my hand.

Here's some pics of it mounted on my Vortex:

And if you are unfamiliar with the $60.00 Switchview lever, here is the link to the website: http://www.mgmswitchview.com/svstore/

I have not been out to test this at the range yet, but so far I think it is a $1.69 well spent. I will be painting it black later on so I don't attract hoards of the walking dead.

do you have a dremel? make your own. all you need is a sheet 1/4" (3x3"?) thick and dremel away. then paint.

otherwise nicely done. i certainly wouldn't pay that much for some simple cnc work.

You paint that flat black, call it tactical and you could sell them for $25 a crack. To the CF, those small arms LCMM's are always looking to do things on the cheap.

If I get a dremel I will have to try that. I just noticed these fasteners in Home Hardware while doing the wedding gift registry and thought I'ld slap it on my scope.....

Of course the fiance wasn't too happy that I was thinking about firearms and not about which colour of dish clothes we should put on the registry....haha
