Our youngest grand daughter has her PAL, plus the BC hunter number, which is required in order to get a BC hunting licence. When she got the PAL I said I would give her a 22 rifle. I had a classic #1 Brno sitting around so I gave it to her and she promptly out shot me with it!
When she got her hunting licence number I said I would find her a rifle. She is quite a small lady and I already had Bench Rest dies for a 7mm-08, so that would be a logical calibre for her.
Did a fair bit of looking, then decided on a Tikka T3 Lite. Got in contact with Prairie Gun Traders on here and very quickly it was a very satisfying done deal.
I put a vintage Texas Weaver K6, fixed six power, on it, which I had purchased in the 1970s for competition shooting in the old Rifleman's Rodeo matches.
I built up some loads to see how it handled pressure, got to just over 2800 fps on the chronograph with 145 grain bullets, which should be good and certainly didn't have excess felt recoil, but can easily download if desired.
So, to the range to see if they would shoot.
Took a fowling shot, then three on target. Tikka guarantees sub MOA with three shots, and danged it didn't do about .65" at the hundred yard range.
