Just bought this fabulous Smith and Wesson Model 10 Heavy Barrel .38Spl from a nutter and she's a dream. The barrel is a custom 4.25 inch so that I could actually own her!

The factory grips were just like I remember from all those years ago when I carried one of these nasties on the streets of Toronto and Niagara Falls. They work great, but just didn't seem to fit that incredibly deep bluing and I thought this little lady needed a.... je ne sais quoi.

Then I spotted Blackmore's ad in the parts section. He said he had brand new Cocobolo grips that would hug my little ladies hips.

He was right.

Congrats, very nice. My next will be a S&W Love the revolvers, enjoy

Thanks Folks.

I took her out too shoot with the original grips. Thought I'd see how small she'd group at seven meters with S&B 158gr FMJ.

In single action I was shooting a group that looked like a lopsided egg and it was five inches tall, six inches at the bottom of the egg and three inches to the right of the three inch bulls eye that I was shooting at. I was discouraged and nearly ill. Still more than capable of deadly at the average "combat" distance but disheartening to say the least.

My Mrs said that I should just shoot it the way we always did when I carried one, DA only and fast from the holster with double tap. I fired six rounds in a string that lasted probably less than three seconds. The group was one and a half inches tall, slightly strung from bottom left to top right and three quarters of an inch wide.

Not bad for an old gun and being driven like a Ferrari.

Those are the best. My favorite handgun ever.
This revolver looks kind of familiar to me.
Is it 10-8 by any chance?
I think I know who made the barrel on that unit...
I just found one lately as well.
Restricted :D

Nice gun you got there. I have a 10-5 with a pencil barrel. It's one of my favorite guns to shoot, and it came with the original box
