Damn you! I did get that CT 45 and then I said to myself, "well you can't just have one..." so I folded and bought a USP 40 to pair with it...

I love my Sig Tacops. I LOVE the nitron finish on the 1911 platform, it's so "matte", it looks so tacticool! I also really love the semi-squared off shaped slide and the lines on the side of the slide, really MODERNIZES the 1911. IMHO, for the price, it's a no-brainer purchase. Comes with ALL the bells & whistles you could or would want in a 1911, you won't have to add anything. But beware, since it has a rail, you'd have ALOT of temptation to spend more money to buy an X300.
As far as your questions,
Reliable? No failures, FTF, FTE of any kind.
Shoots straight? Shoots way better than me for sure.
Eats anything you feed it? Yep.
Not picky about brand of mag? I only use WC and CMC mags and they have worked flawlessly.
If you could find one, I would snatch it up, you definitely won't be disappointed!
Maybe 50Cal could chime in with some comments seeing as there's a Tacops pictured in his signature?

I just sold mine...
Not because I didn't like it, but with four new pistol additions on route something had to give. When more money frees up I'll get another one, or go to the basic version and build it up how I want it.
Sig is my only choice for 1911's. Well priced, modernized, high quality and deadly accurate.
