It shoots great now. The sites were off and the hammer had a chip where it met the sear. After the installation of the new sights and hammer it shoots like a dream. I realize the colour is a bit offensive but that is easily changed. I would like to say that I had nothing but positive transactions with the nutters and the sponsers on this site.
I like it Tom--- not all 1911s should look the same... although from the title of the thread I was half expecting to find one with the Gunnutz logo in the grips instead of flames.
not my choice of colours, but good for you! i'm currently working on refinishing a colt 1911 government model, you get a lot pride from doing something like this by yourself and you really get to know your gun.
what did you use for paint? duracoat? black is probably the easiest colour to find.
