My hands are freezing!

Here's a cheapskate solution to my lifelong quest for warm hands in the blind. Have tried a couple of good quality gloves but always get my fingers freezing. With the blackpowder hunt here in Ontario coming up next week I'll give this rig a try. Camo gloves from the dollar store when I'm in motion (seem to work fine never get cold) a pair of $10 oversized leather mittens from Princess Auto with a Hothands heating pouch sandwiched in between. Gloves fit tight in the mitts and once inside the whole package can be removed with a quick tug if needed to reach the trigger. Saw a great pair of Ski mittens at Costco last week, they have an external pouch for the warmer but the cuff is way too cumbersome for fast removal.

I have an Avery fleece hand warmer, that thing is freaken awesome, we had some pretty cold weather recently and it did the job in the blind!

In cold weather, mitts work better for me than gloves.

Try those mittens that the end flips open on. I wear a thin pair of sitka gloves underneath. They're actually quite warm, I take the mitts off if I'm walking around during the day. The mitts I found are water and wind resistant and use a magnet to hold the ends back instead of stupid velcro. Stuff a handwarmer in the end of each one and yer good to go. Curl your fingers to flip open the ends almost instantly.

I bought a pair of mitts from Canadian tire for $35 made by Rocky. They have a thin camo glove inside and a cut palm so you can slip your fingers out to shoot. They fold back and stay in place with small magnets sewn into them to hold them (cool idea). They also have a small zippered pocket on the back of the fingers to put a hotshot into. At $35 they were, in my opinion, a good deal because I hate cold hands.

I buy those string, roping gloves by the bundle for work and play. Cheap, give you some warmth and give you good finger control.
