My hunting rifle

I've always been a fan of the Rem. 700. That rifle should give you years of hunting enjoyment. Let us know how it shoots.

Well, it shoots great....the recoil is actually pleseant more of a push then a kick. Functioned top notch. Very smooth. I bore sighted it at home but in the field I ran out of ammo before I managed to zero it lol It was my first time sighting in a scoped rifle and the fricken Nikon controles are reversed. Instead of getting closer to the target i kept on making it worse. I only had eight rounds and by the time I figured it out I was down to two rounds and with the final 100y shot I just missed the bullseye to the left.
I actually think I might return the Prostaff and go for the Bushnell Elite. The eye relief range in it is so much more flexible. Its almost imposible to black it out.

I've been slowly getting ready for my first hunting season. Earlier I picked up a nice 3030 Marlin and was still looking for a big game bolt action. I just couldn't go through with getting a synthetic savage, great rifle I hear but absolutely no class. I wanted something pretty, shiny with lots of history and character but my budget wouldn't allow for a new fn built model 70. Rather then settle, I decided to tap into the "previously enjoyed" market and came up with this beauty.

1990's Remington 700 BDL in 3006 with a beautiful high gloss stock and blueing. There are signs of normal wear but its in great shape and plenty of life still remaining. I made the right choice

If you have a 30-30 marlin, and your concerned about getting a Savage.

That's a very nice old 700,....but I have to tell you......and this is a good thing...:)....that isn't a 1990's rifle....it was made between 1975 and 1980-81. You can tell by the solid checkering and A prefix serial number.

The two letter date code on the barrel with tell you the exact month and year of manufacture. It's on the left side just ahead of the recoil lug.

That's a waaaaaaaay better 700 than one made today.

I have about a half dozen (I'd have to count them) 700's with A and B prefix serial numbers. They are very good.

You did well...he11,....for $450 you about stole it...:)
