Since we have the disadvandage that many of the B&G rifles, found on the prohibited list, or due to the manufacturers' policies or certain nations' law(eg. H&K's G36 & UMP), are not obtainable.

So instead of getting somethings that everyone got, I came up with something that is on neither the prohibited/restricted list:

PR-2A2.jpg

If I have the skills, I'll definitely built my very own assault weapon......

So are anyone around here have the exacy same dream on design/built your own B&G weapons?

Comments?

Edit: The design has been refined, along with more info of the weapon.

Before getting a KABOOM I would like to see that bolt be inline with the barrel.

Kind of looks like an AR-180B with an FN-SCAR upper and an XM-8/FN SCAR buttstock :)

Edited: Ah correction!! that is not the bolt but the ejection port.. my bad!!

Polyshot, how many time to built the rifle?

Well, actually I first started it on a actual sketch paper about a year ago, too bad I don't have a working scanner, or else I can scan the drawings and post it here. It took me a hour or two to "transfer" the drawing to Microsoft Paint, and I use this opportunity to make some changes, and the most obvious change is to redesign the magazine well so it could accepts STANAG mags(the original concept on my sketch paper uses proprietary mags).

Currently there are 4 variants of PR-2A2 existed on my sketch paper, one standard length rifle, one carbine, and two versions of compact carbine(one for SpecOps, and the others as a PDW/police patrol carbine).

Note: The design of my weapon has refined, along with more info.

whats it a varient of??

they probably have an OIC for "any rifle that looks scarey"

It is not a variant of anything, it is a original design- although during the design I "borrowed" some ideas from other weapon systems......

Polyshot, when your blue print will be finish, send it to Norinco. ;)

I'd rather establish my own firm(Polyshot Arsenal Inc.) and built'em in my own factory....... I'll not allow my design to fall into communist's hand :D !!

Oh the gun design floating around in my head, good lord. So amny you'd #### yourself.

Hopefully I can get at least one built in the near future, I'm sure you folks would like it. Basically, AR18 style operating system that uses AR15 barrels. milled aluminum most likely.

If I had to describe it in one word, I'd say 'lofty' but then I don't know what kind of tools and materials you have at your disposal.

Well, it is just a dream, I sorta know the principle of how each of the firearm actions work, but I know nothing about turning the concept into a workable prototype :( ..........

Certainly doable. I would use the AR bolt and barrel system, piston driven with the recoil spring around the rod. AK series mags for easy sourcing. For low volume production (since the US market is out) no stampings, so machined 7075-T6 upper and lower ala AR. Two pins holding the upper and lower togther ala AR/HK. Off the shelf plastic or your paying a fortune for molds.

If you build it, the orders will come.

Consider hiring a consultant/partner with engineering experience in metals and in CNC machining,

Assuming those are not your specialities.

Very impressive and I think I have a good chance of actually shooting one before the XCR becomes a reality.
