I apologize for the junky cellphone pic.. It's Mk II G, put a Banner 4-12x scope, mostly for rifle nights at the range but eventually she will get some bush time. Definitely better than the shooter but I'll work on changing that ;)

I'm gonna say good call on the G model considering you scoped it.

These have got to be one of the best if not the best buy in a new .22.

Mine is set up pretty much exatly the same(aside from a leather sling I added) and I don't feel like it needs any mods whatsoever.

That's a beaut :) I was planning on starting out with a 10/22, but I did a bit of homework, asked a few questions and Mk II G came out as the best starter, due to the inherent accuracy and the stock shape (for cheek weld). Did you adjust the trigger at any point in time or you left it stock? I wanna make sure my equipment is at its best before I start working on adjusting the shooter ;)

By the way, you also shoot an SKS? Czech stuff? Just went splits on a case of that with my buddy just for the clips (our combined total before was in the single digits).

I adjusted it as light as it'll go stock, which is pretty easy. There is a simple mod to get the trigger lighter, but it's perfect for me.

I have an sks, first time I got ammo it was on clips so now I don't worry abut them, I'll shoot anything that fits in my sks. My sks is modified to the point where it's kind of silly, considering how much the gun cost vs. the price of the stuff that's on it.

Read the instructions and it's easy enough so that's something to do over the weekend, before I take my buddy to the range.

My SKS is still bone stock but will mod her to take XCR mags (legal 10rd capacity), will go for a buttpad and get a peep. Might work the trigger a bit too, but trying to keep the expenses to a minimum.

I too own a Mark II G. And I love it! definitely cannot complain about the price! And likewise, also more accurate than I am, lol

Nice.. You seem to be feeding her Champions.. How does she like'em? Haven't fired'em though as I bought'em as the ammo of choice for my Buck Mark and still waiting for my ATT. They look a lot better than Game Shok that I mistakenly bought at Epps.. Gotta have my Mk II barf out 900 more rds of that nasty wax-coated stuff that took forever and a half to clean out.

Btw, I adjusted the trigger.. Took under 2min including reading the instructions. It's as light as it'll go.

It does seem to like the fed champion 525 packs. The odd flyer but hey it's cheap. Other than that all I've fed her so far was American eagle which also does ok. But I have also only put less than 500 rounds combined through it. I've spent too much time getting my .223 ready for the yotes comin up.

Now I gotta find a source in Ontario that carries Fed 525's. I got the last box from SFRC and they haven't stocked any since then. Shipping from out of province.. I might as well buy match grade ammo locally instead. The UPS don't come cheap.

Walmart and cad tire carry the 525, at least up here in Peterborough.

C.T. carries them here as well. They were my go-to ammo until about a month ago in my MkII GL. They worked quite well, however when once I did some tests I found CCI standard velocity cut my groups by 30%. To me, they're worth the extra $5.

.......last firearm purchase.....lol I keep telling myself the same thing. : )

Hence the "for a while" part ;) (still got about 8 on my official list but that's for the future lol)

I'll see if the ones in Mississauga carry Fed.. At least to feed my Buck Mark. I don't think they can sell ammo in Toronto proper, thank you Miller-Douche

Good to know.. Definitely hitting Mississauga and taking a look.

Thanks for all the info, guys

Took her back to the range. Since I had to take her out of the stock to adjust the trigger, I had to re-zero the scope. Wasn't nearly as bad as the first time around. Off the bench (sand bag in front, elbow resting on hard surface), I was getting 1/2" at 50yds, indoors. It wasn't consistent but in all cases where the groups weren't that tight, I could identify a shooter error. No FTF's this time around, even though the 2 FTF's from Wednesday's shoot can be attributed to the ammo (the rims were showing good power strikes, the primer just wasn't going off). Highly satisfied with the rifle so far. Going back to the range on Wednesday.

Your last purchase just be happy you were allowed to purchase Jay Cannuk denied me access to the EE beccause i don't have enough posts

Participate in the forums more with relevant posts and he will. A bit of patience won't kill ya. So far I haven't found any deals on EE that would entice me to buy as opposed to buying new from a retailer (mostly CGN sponsors). All of the sponsors have been great to deal with and I can't say anything bad about any of them. Typically ultra-fast shipping, superb communication, professional handling of any hickups (special mentions go out to Wanstalls and Gagnon ), and everybody has been helpful to the max. Click on the ads up top. I've bought from Wanstalls (thanks Daniel), Wolverine, SFRC and Epps. There are also great vendors in the Business and Industry Members Forums section. They may not have ads on top, but I got top-notch service both from Frank at North Trail Sports and Randy at Gagnon. If EE is not an option, there are plenty of guys and gals in the community who will take your money and give you good value for it with a side of old-fashioned proper customer service.
