So I finished putting this boomstick together this week.

It started as a franken-gun 1960's Wingmaster (non-magnum V suffix) 870 I got cheap at an online auction on a whim. The original blueing on the gun was in nice shape, but it had a very shortened butt on it (12.5" LOP) that was not disclosed in the description. Had a browning buttpad on it, of all things, and a fixed full choke barrel. The forestock was the old vertical serrated grip type, and was cracked/broken (I knew about that when I bought it).

Changes I've made to the gun:

-receiver converted to a factory 3" mag ejector
-full conversion to flexi-tab, including a 1990's era chromed flexi-tab wingmaster bolt I had as a spare.
-late 1970's fleur de lis wood in like-new condition, whiteline spacers removed
-Pachmayr Old English decelerator pad
-870P mag spring (thanks TacOrd!)
-S&J hi-viz follower
-new in box 2002 production wingmaster VR barrel with Remchokes

Runs like butter now, and is likely nicer than anything recently made by Freedom Group or RemArms.

Anyone else got an old wingmaster in sporting trim they are proud of and love? Let's see it!

As an aside, I just came into a vintage smooth aluminum LH trigger group that I've converted to flex-tab and installed (I'm a lefty). This is a bit better solution than the Wilson style lh safeties I usually use, as I can now use any RH safety on this gun. I can also convert it back with a trigger group swap in a few seconds when I loan the gun to someone hunting with me.

Someone else posted a 3" wingmaster magnum in the EE for only $799 and it's not sold yet - surprisingly. I think I have at least that into this one and no regrets at all.

Surely others have pics of cool old wingmasters they wanna share?
