These are fun guns to shoot, very minimal recoil for a .44.

That is a very nice rifle... I have a Deerfield and it gets alot of use... as does my 77/44. Nice score... good shooting!

what's the range on a .44 out of a longer barrel? 100 yards? more? less?

You get decent groups at 100. 120 still pretty good as well. I have to hold slightly high at 150.

I want a Deerfield WANT WANT WANT. So far I too have settled for a Ruger .44 tube fed. Stout load of 110 made a big difference for me in ability to group. Nice rifle sir.

I’m hopeful that they’ll wood stock it one day to hide some of the fugly... Or maybe Boyd’s will churn out a laminate that’ll make it look a little better.

It's a combination of looking and stumbling across it actually. I had been looking for a Ruger 44 International, and this one came up in the search results.
