very nice rifles! Was the magazine box in the 9.3-62 extended?

I like that "high wall" 96. A receiver like that should make a great base for a precision/sniper rifle. Wish I knew more about the minor differences in all of the various mausers out there. Only one I own is a PH 1200C in .300 Win Mag.

I don't think so, the mauser action can take a 30.06 which is a mil or so longer than the 62..

The limiting factor is the magazine box. Swedish sporters based on the 98 action have .30-06 length mag boxes, so any "x63mm" round will fit.

Not sure about the 96 sporters...?
