Sorry form the photos disappearing , it happens when you put them in a folder on photobucket
Since the thread started the rifle has killed a pile of deer both with irons and two different Leupold scopes , a 1--4X and a fixed 6, and as Double gun stated, it has been checkered by Dennis Davidson of Ft.. St. John.
As far as ammo goes, I have killed deer with everything from 150 Grain Barnes to 215 grain C.I.L. bullets with Speer and Sierra bullets in various weights as well.
It shoots everything well with the scope on or off, no re zeroing needed
.....ever consider doing a .308"cal 303British?
Nope the thought never crossed my mind .when I originally started to gather info for the concept, one of the criteria was a trimmed cartridge but wildcats never entered my mind really . It was a toss up between the 30/40 and the 303 until the obvious was pointed out - I'm a Canuck so why bother with anything else !that is s great looking rifle however !Thanks for the pics. I always liked that rifle. Did you ever consider doing a .308"cal 303British?
I came across this rifle on 24Hr CF and liked the idea. I could see it w/o the tang sight with a scope.

Wouldn't you be better off building a 30-40 Krag at that point?
I'm a Canuck so why bother with anything else!
Some of the bullets I have in my cabinet are Woodleighs and Barnes TSX's , but all the bullets I shot deer with( 7 different bullets so far ) have all performed perfectly with the farthest recovery being about 50 yards . The rest were bang flops !Given the choice, I would have to go with the 303 British. The 30-40 is a bit too "U.S." for this rifle
X2 ........ Better bullet selection in the 30cal would only be a small consideration in the big picture.
