A photo of my first Left hander, beauty Abolt stainless stalker-
Calibre: 30-06
loaded some ammo to get her dialled in when the Weaver bases arrive - and dismantle scope off the 35 Whelen, pulling it out of commission - times have changed!

Thanks for help here
hoping to use this rifle on a fallow deer or two in coming week, with the 150gr loads at a very approx, 2500-2600fps

Browning makes some nice rifles, when I was looking for LH bolt guns it wasn’t on my radar till I was in a gun shop in Vancouver chatting with one of the guys about my options. He was a southpaw as well and suggested I look at a browning X bolt and handed me a LH one, it sure was nice to shoulder. If it had fit a few more of my criteria I would definitely have considered it. Hell I might still at a later date, I’m sure you’ll enjoy yours. A good friend of mine has an A bolt in .270 I believe and he loves it.

I shot my biggest whitetail buck with a Browning Abolt with the Boss System in 7mm Rem Mag. I like the Abolt.

Now, do we have to change your name to AboltLad?

Cheers
Jay

ha ha Jay, im undecided if its KimberLad or AboltLad yet! LOL

things may of been different for me too if the bloke with that 300 wm an Boss had emailed me back!

happy with a 06 for sure though! more exciting than a magnum to me!
7rm would be noiice.

hope you are well

I think in the long run you'll be happy you got one in '06 instead of 300wm Whelenlad. Especially since you handload, the sky's the limit. If the factory pad on that has gone hard, keep in mind the limbsaver prefit pad fits perfectly and makes range sessions much more enjoyable.

I have 2 LH A-Bolts, an A-Bolt 1 stainless stalker (just like yours) in .280 rem and a A-Bolt II Micro Hunter in .22 hornet. Both are great guns and shoot very well. The only modification I would recommend is ordering a $10 trigger spring from YoDave. It was literally a night and day difference for me. Having a better trigger also increased my accuracy by A LOT!

Good luck on your hunts, it's really hard to beat those old A-Bolts!

Older model Abolt fan here, too.

Also, a leftie but have yet to own a left handed bolt rifle!

Currently have late '90's composite stalkers in .300 Win Mag & .308 Win. Have had a wood stocked Abolt in .30-06 & a stainless stalker in .308 Win before, too. All were great "shooters".

Congrats on your acquisition!

I had that exact rifle in my hands a few days ago, a friend bought his nephew a left hand A-bolt stainless 30-06. He brought it to my place so I could look at it. I also have an A-bolt micro 284win. Your going to love the 60 degree bolt lift and the tang safety, I know I do. Have fun with it A-Bolt Laddy :)
