After adding a 1903-A3, I had to take a little family photo of my American Collection. It begs for a 1911 of correct vintage, but oh to have a Thompson and a BAR. So anyone have an appropriate 1911 out there? (Beretta 92FS is missing from photo because wife wont let me have it back - she likes it too much, but can you blame her?)

thanks Hilts - I forgot about a P-17... as for the Norks...well, the M-305 is all you can get for those Non 12.3 of us...and the CQ-311 was the first AR type I waded into - its fun and all...but if I am going to drop some coin on an AR it would be a more vintage one with the triangular handguards... in the mean time they get to stay and shoot...
So to add to the list.... M1911, and Springfield P-17? Oh this is gonna be worse than the Enfield bug!:runaway:

Nice little family!! I went the same route, 'cept I stopped at 1955, so nothing 'new', and went back to the Trapdoor.

You definitely need a USGI 1911, a Krag, Johnson, Model 1917 Rifle etc!

And why stop there.....Mod 12 and Mod 1897 Trenches too!

No worries, the Nork M14 and AR15 are very solid rifles. My first AR was the CQ311 as well. It was fitted out with A1 furniture for that Vietnam look, only thing that looks proper with that skinny barrel.:)

Tyler - I really dont have any idea of M-305 finish - came with the blond stock and blued barrel (as opposed to the Chu-wood and Park finished M-305's of late)

As for the Enfield thing vs American guns - I do both (just to satisfy both cravings!) but I guess you try to get what you generally cant have... lots of Enfields up here that the Yanks would love to get their hands on at 3 times the price! LOL

That said, I am seriously looking for that 1911. The Krag can wait, and I have to keep an eye out for the p-17 while browsing for Enfield stuff.
