My Little Sweetie Pie

Congrats old timer on finding a gun that has seen more than you and looks twice as good! You'll enjoy that sweet little thing as much as the first person to own her I am sure.

New? Hardly.
Reloading? Of course.

I am curious where one gets the brass from?

I got enough loaded rounds with it to have brass for a while.
In the WWS catalogue they have both 25-20 loaded rounds and new brass.
I haven't had experience with that outfit, but I hear many saying that doesn't mean they have it, or can get it.
Dies seem to be available, also.

I saw some 25/20 for sale at a local gunstore but it was pricey...IIRC $85 for 50 rounds.

Is there a metric version available like with 25/35 (6.5x52R)?

Nothing listed in Cartridges of the World, but even if there were, if you think 25/20 ammo is pricey....

I just couldn't wait any longer, I had to try her out!
I have no idea how the guys handled her before me, but this guy is just not used to a buckhorn sight. To say it is not my favourite is the understatement of the week.
However, I hunkered down at the 50 yard line at the pistol range and let fly three times.
I may not be really proud of the shooting, but certainly not ashamed of it, either. The two furthest seperated are 1.75 inches, which relates to about three and a half at 100 yards, which I won't complain about. They are sure nice clean, round holes.
Next on the list now is an old tang sight to fit the hole in the 92 tang.

For a rifle you're unfamiliar with and sights you don't like, that's not a bad start. With a tang aperture sight and maybe a new blade at the front and a bit more practice I wouldn't be surprised if those groups improve by 50%.
The bore might benefit from an overnight dose of Wipeout and/or Kroil, too, in case some of her "history" is hindering things.

That little mark in the last picture...is a reminder that my overly friendly cat was helping me take pictures!

Well, there is a s'perienced feller that would say, "good n'uff for vittles"..... :D
Nice to see no tumbl'in of the lead.
A man does enjoy clean holes.......aye? :)

Very, very nice 4831. I just completed my 1892 caliber collection three weeks ago with an 1892 rifle in 25-20 as well.....I should take a picture, maybe they are close family relatives!

So you say that your WSS has brass? The Calgary one seems to have dried up, and I don't know what I am going to do about bullets....

Oh and great cat...Mr Chumbles. hahaha....
