My 9mm M&P finally arrived and I will be trying her out this week. I'll let you know after what I think. :dancingbanana:

Anyone that has one of these I have a question. I have hands that come close to vise grip capabilities but I can't seem to get the plastic take down lever (at the bottom rear of the grip behind the mag butt plate) to make the 1/4 turn they say to do to get it out. I don't want to force it and damage it. Yes I do have the mag out when I'm trying this. What gives?

She's tight at first but loosens up after a few times, wait are we talking about the same thing?:slap:

I had the same expierence with my M&P9 but after I did it a few times it became easier to turn. Enjoy your fine new firearm:)

Target is that an internal lock model?

No it doesn't have the key that goes into it. It just has the place where it would be if it was equipped with it.

Also for disassembly they suggest removing the frame tool for lowering the sear deactivation lever into the mag well. I can't see doing this every time I'm going to clean it. So I will make a little plastic rod to use for this purpose.

Just a wild guess here....are you turning it a COMPLETE 1/4 turn, i.e. from sideways to fore-and-aft? I initially misunderstood the instructions, and turned the lock 1/4 turn between "12 o'clock" and "3 o'clock". I put it down to being old and stupid. :D
If not, use a pair of grips or pliers with a cloth over the lock head...it will turn and does not mark easily. Do it once, and it'll be easy next time.

Just give the sear deactivation lever a poke with your finger. It's amazing the places a finger can get into. :D
