My M&P. Any suggestions?

I've got an M&P40 that I really enjoy shooting--I've done nothing to it except paint the front and rear sight dots with fluorescent red and green paint--although it looks like yours already has a front fibre optic sight. As mudgunner49 and Nestor have posted upthread I'd shoot yours a bit before I changed anything else.
 
Just make sure you're using the right grip adaptor. I started out with Large because I have big hands, but it turned out that the Medium worked better for me.

The APEX sear isn't a bad idea, but really, the M&P doesn't need much by way of mods. Just shoot it enough to smooth out the trigger...and enjoy!

Didn't see your rear sight, but perhaps you can put some fluorescent green paint on the rear sight dot so it matches the "theme color"?? However, I will probably prefer blackout the rear sight dot so when focusing, you eye will naturally focus on your fiber optic front sight.
 
Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions. Reason why I havent shot the gun yet is im still waiting for my ATT since may 25 :(. Makes no sense that you can buy a gun and ammo but cant shoot until you get a piece of paper. I have 250 rounds for my first day at the range so hopefully that'll last one day.
And yes the front sight is optic and rear is white dotted but i'll see how that treats me and might just make it black.
@enefgee Got the range kit so I have 3 mags, the gun, 3 backstraps, holster, mag holster,carry case and a Uplula speed loader.

Any suggestions on how to make the last round easier to load into the gun? the 10th round i really have to push hard on the speed loader and still have to force it in. Saw a mod on youtube shaving down part of the mag. Anyone tried this?
 
Gotta agree with the previous comments:

1. Shoot a case before ya do any mods
2. Make sure you have the right size grip on it (I use the Med)
3. And yes - After all that - you're likely gonna have to replace/fix the white dot sights ('cause they fall out!)
4. And yes (again!) - the trigger is gritty, so the Apex kit, or a trigger job is in order.

I opted for a Trigger Job and had a wonderful job done by Shane at Reliable Guns in Vancouver - never looked back after that - different gun altogether.

Again, another "shoot before you mod". Shoot it...a lot, you might find that you don't need a trigger kit after all.
Grip size: try all grip sizes. I thought I wanted the med, but all shots were going left. Increased to large, and now all shots are going where aimed.
 
Agree with other have said. Just shoot it and find out what doesn't work for you. My progression for my glock was as follows:

250 rounds- find right backstrap
500 rounds- added grip tape
750 rounds- changed sights
3500 rounds- 3.5lb connector added

I finally have it to where I am happy with it! (For now!)

Never saw any youtube on the subject, but I trimmed down the legs on the followers on mine, problem solved. Someone else started a thread on the subject somewhere on here.
 
I opted for the Apex FSS and trigger because I don't have a gunsmith that is close to me. I installed it myself and like others have mentioned, it was night and day. Go shoot it a bit with the stock trigger, so that when you get a nice one in, you'll appreciate it more! Happy shooting-it's a great platform!
 
Load up all your mags and lock them up with your ammo, leave them sit for a few weeks like that and the spring will loosen up and make that last round easier. Eventually the spring will be loose enough that you wont need that mag loader to load your mags so that you dont hurt your fingers.

Leaving mags loaded doesn't make them softer. Shaving down the follower really helps though. With the stock mags, it is very hard to load 10 rds on a closed slide. Sand down the follower and there are no problems at all.
 
Modify the mags if needed. Mine wouldn't get round ten in without shaving off a bit of the follower.

After that just shoot it. You may not need to modify anything.
