So, here is my M14.

Took it out last weekend for the first time. Was awesome. What a dream. Felt like an old friend.

There were a couple of guys with AR's and I could hear them asking each other what I was shooting. Someone said, "...it's an M14". Other guy goes, "Wow".

I figure it was cool to have a "real" rifle there.

Yep! When I first fired my M14 at the range, there were two other guys who were firing their AR's close by with the distinct sound going "pak! pak! pak! pak!...

Then I fired my "real" rifle which went "BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!"

Nice! Every M-14 NEEDS a bayonet, IMO.

IMO i believe every M-14 requires a sidearm still havent met someone that can dodge a bullet.

I haven't seen a bayonet yet that requires reloading, or jams for that matter.

i can see norc stamps on side of receiver but looks greatt

you can remove them now includeing the serial number as it's legal with C 19 that passed I was supprized to see that in the law...

Actually it should sound like this, ,..............Pauck-ooolll.........whhhhoooomppp.

That's if it a 200 yard gong. It should be unsupported and irons as well.

i also have the same bayonet and frog...but...i need a shorter gas plug...by about 2 or 3mm

THATS what i get for hoping beyond my research...and measuring web pictures on my monitor with a ruler

will prolly buy an extra plug and see if its possible to safely mod one of them.

I wish mine had a wood stock and not synthetic...

that's for aesthetics only( ie looks) - there's a reason the usgi went FIBERGLAS-the wood ones will gall and bind in the right conditions

The Wood sure does look good tho. I may have to get a second one and get a boyds stock for it.
