Hello all! I made this thread awhile back on M14 forum

I was wondering what you guys think about my design?

Looks to me to be identical to the M1A M14 - Troy Industries Stock.

The good is that your design (as shown by Troy Industries) would work great. The bad is that your design might infringe on some patents.

If I understand this correctly, the drawing shows a flat top receiver only and you plan to add a carbon fibre front end to it? Looks kind of neat. Looks like you have a new approach there but my next stock will probably be an M14doctor synthetic as I like a fast handling fibreglass stock.

Ya I was wondering if there was a market up here for a flattop m14 receiver?

But one of the key differences is that the receiver you designed (unlike the troy) is machined to have the flat top .. whereas the troy is a bolt on stock thingy.

The problem I see here is, the receiver is the firearm. So basically by machining the firearm, you would then have to send stuff into the rcmp to get it classified etc etc etc. Costs a bundle AND they could come back and say "F You, its prohib". Then you'd be out all the $ you put into the reciever and the $ you had to pay to have them confiscate your prohibited firearm.

Unless I'm way off the mark.
