My M14 has been destroyed!

I can play too :D though I no longer own this rifle..... it's one of the nicest and most accuarte ones i've built. All the usgi parts and krieger DMR barrel doesn't hurt..... but what tops it off is the gorgeous Boyd's Type II nutmeg laminate. I've been offfered to buy this rifle back and have been trying to make it happen for near a year LOL so if anyone is interested..... she's a killer rifle.

I should note..... these boyd's stocks (type II) are very fat .... big time. and this particular model has a gaping inlet that accepts rear lug receivers. This version of the boyd's requires complex bedding procedures to correctly fit the action. Was a super fun project.
anyhow, enjoy the pics :D

Canuck, did you have any problem with interference between the wooden hand guard and the op-rod?
I had to remove some material on the hand guard to allow for proper op-rod function.

Yes I had to take out about 1/8" or so to get it to fit. Dremel is your friend :)

I actually prefer the rubber butt pad. Not for the recoil, but actually the weight and balance of rifle. I find the metal butt plates nice for storing #### you will forget about but they are heavy.

And yes, the fiberglass ones are good for skull bashing zombies but I have no intentions of letting them get that close.

Woods not bad , im more a fan of walnut than laminate myself however i would add that on to mine just for the hell of it .

However i must say i am partial to my fiberglass.

I like my USGI wood, nicks, dings and all :) the laminate is a nice stock, but like the "big reds" I always found them too meaty for my shooting style.

Pardon me for being an ignorant, I just want to confirm if this a norinco m14. If it is who well does it shoot, at 300 yard.

I am really open to different designs, and it doesn't look so bad to me. I have so many black rifles that actually turning one into wood for once would be a nice change!

It is a M14/M305 Norinco, one of the first few Marstar got in. It is one of the evil Blued ones that no one wanted, (they all wanted Parkerized at the time).

Never shot it at 300 yards, nor is mine tuned to shoot at any distances. My 15 year old son has a Rem 700 SPS in 308 win (registered in my name) that he can shoot 2.5 inch groups at 200 yards with. I have yet to beat his score at that distance with my M14 but I can still beat him if he goes on about out shooting his old man!:D
