My M14 SOCOM is coming along...*UPDATE*

Still unfired as is, I was told the brake cuts down recoil up to 30%.

Barrel lenght is 18.6''.

It does. :dancingbanana:

I'll post a pic of mine in a few minutes.

Here it is (with Marstar Gas Lock Front Sight, SEI muzzle brake, Ultimak forward optic mount and EOTECH):

Awesome !! Even if it looks weird with the optic that far...but hey, if it works...
Is the MB came directly from SEI ? How long did it take to order ? Still waiting mine, VISA still not charged :runaway:

Sharkson: Who did yours, unless you did it yourself?

Mine was done by Dean Fraser 3w.pistolsmith.ca

Did it myself, though note I still have a full length barrel. I want it cut down but I have to find someone who can also machine in the barrel "spline" channels to accept the brake as is.

Oh, and about the mount/EOTECH so far forward, this allows better situational awareness with both eyes open and fast target acquisition, or so they tell me. :D

I got my MB direct from SEI as it was $30 US cheaper (only USD $100). Funny that SEI undercuts one of its distributors.

Hey sharkson where did you source the handguard? It is from ultimak right?

Yeah, sorry, should have mentioned that. It's an Ultimak:

www.ultimak.com/M8.htm

Got it through Wolverine from Brownells. Though I've been told that because it is classified as "scope parts", you can get Brownells to help you with the required US paperwork and have it shipped directly. Should save you some money. Recommend you speak directly with Brownells.

I'm likely to get another Ultimak for my shortie M305 instead of a standard scope mount (more options).
