Thank you Canada for making me a kick a$ss stock! I was referred to this site by h20man from ar15.com and already introduced my self in the newbie section. I plan to take her out to the desert this weekend to site her in, so range report will follow shortly.

Can you still use iron sights with the marstar stock.

Yes and no. If you want to use the stock sites then the answer is no.

I can raise the rear site to clear the top of the stock, but I would also need to raise the front site to level her out, which I can't do because we all know you can't adjust the elevation on the front site on an M1A. So I will eventually need a different-special-higher front site if I plan on using irons with this stock.

:( Well I'm jealous...wish I had the money:rolleyes:. The only work I've done on my m-14 is to add a swivel stud to the chinese mystery wood for my chinese made bi-pod.
I can wait to hear how she shoots...seen the specs. real nice:D
By the way welcome to the club:dancingbanana: :runaway: :dancingbanana: :runaway: :puke:

well for what it's worth, I am jealous of all you canadians. you guys can get M14 with forged recievers for only $400 US for a complete rifle! :D

Over here in the US, we have to pay $1500 US for a POS Springfield with recievers that are not even in spec like the Norincos.

Lucky for me I have a 1993 Springer with USGI bolt and trigger, and my receiver works with just about all scope mounts, even though the rest of the receiver seems out of spec, at least the grooves for the scope mount seems to be in spec :)

Have you looked into an ACE folder kit and Magpul CTR with snap on cheek risers for that stock?

I'll help you spend money :D

Who actually made that stock ? There are some who believe that it may be airsoft rated and not intended for a real firearm . I'm not trying to create undo concern but check it out before hammering it 'cause we don't want to see ya get hurt .

ECartmann: I'm happy as heck that you love the gear around here. Makes us realize that we are lucky in our own ways. Enjoy the addiction and our board !!

Cheers,
Barney

good question. Stock is from Marstar but there are no Marstar markings. It says "AKM" on the side. Stock is as solid as any Sage you will see. I am happy with it. I too considered a JAE, then I wanted a traditional Sage... then a Chopmod Mod1 Sage. This one became available for a decent deal so I picked it up. I was weary at first being the supposedly first person in the USA to be a lab rat on it, but after having it in I am very happy with it. I have no doubts she will shoot good.
