My M1A with Marstar Stock (update with range report and pics on page 3)

Have you looked into an ACE folder kit and Magpul CTR with snap on cheek risers for that stock?

I'll help you spend money :D

the buttstock on the Marstar is a little higher than Sage, as you can see here, the cheekweld is not that bad even on a car stock. The Vltor stock is longer than a CAR so you only have your cheek against the buttstock and not the tube part. Also the grooves itself on the Vltor provides a better weld. I don't think a riser will be necessary as this set up seems just as high as my M4/ACOG/stock-M4-buttstock combo.

BTW: pictures are back. turns out i was using the wrong url that's why they kept on disappearing.

well for what it's worth, I am jealous of all you canadians. you guys can get M14 with forged recievers for only $400 US for a complete rifle!
The $399 Marstar deal is US $350.58 at today's exchange rate :)

ATR; We have covered this before, the stock is NOT an airsoft stock....
You must really think we are stupid here at Marstar ??
We have served Canadian shooters for almost 25 years, do you really think we would put out any product that we could not back up with our warrantee ?

Went to a local range to try her out.

I was anxious and in a hurry as I had to get back home by 3pm so I forgot a lot of stuff such as chairs and silouettes. Duke was suppose to go too but he was out partying too hard the night before ;)

Only lane open was the 50 yarder so I had no choice but to use that one. I was not worried about zero'ing since it was at 50 yards and I would have to re-zero at 100 anyways. I just wanted to see my groupings.

All I can say is wow! She shot tighter than I thought, I never knew South African ammo could be that accurate ;D I am really liking this stock now. Now I have to go re-zero her at 100 yards.

Dirt Road on the way to the range, it is nice having a 4x4.

Got this case at Cabela's for $65. Not what you would call high quality but it has a lock and it does the job.

Like I said I forgot to bring tables and chairs but at least I had this moving matt in my truck

I also forgot sillouettes, but lucky I found these white stickies in my truck :) I made that "X" with my knife and was aiming for the X. Here you can see I am almost zero'd. The lower group (the one with about 12 rounds touching) is about the size of a quarter. This may not be impressive to some of you but it is the best grouping I have ever got at 50 yards with South African ever.

I think it is for Airsoft! As well as for M1A's, real select fire M14's, and other aftermarket M14's too! I love this stock! Very solid and is one fine peice.

Good job Marstar! My range report above.

That is some good shooting.... What ammo did you use?
Keep us posted with the results @ 100 yds...

Did you feel/ hear any rattling or funny noises?
It seems Marstar came up with a great product....

You doubted them? Honestly, I have not had a bad deal with them and I think they are workin to supply affordable stuff to us that no one else is......

John do you ever get tired of the complainers?

HAHAHA

I did not say << Marstar finally came up with a good product>> I've never had a bad deal with them either. I think you could have made your point without misinterpreting my words, no?

no funny noises. but some of the bolts that hold the bottom rail did come loose though. Did not seem to affect accuracy though as it was a good 5 second or more between shots so I had time to adjust between shots.. the only thing the bottom rail held was the bipod. I have since re-tighten all the bolts, I was afraid of over torquing so I put some blue loctite on all the bolts.

the ammo I use was just plain ole South Africa. This is the best grouping I ever got with SA. I don't know if the long break from shooting did me good? or this was an unusually accurate batch of SA? or maybe the stock helps me shoot that much better? Also the Leupold could have helped me shoot better (i dounbt it though) I had a cheapie chinese scope on there before, it was a good scope and it did the job, but the Leupold is such a pleasure to look through, it gather much more light and is so crystal clear. but it costed me 10 times more than the chinese scope. is it 10 times worth the price? probably not, but it is always nice having designer #### and it does make the shooting more fun, so to me it was worth the extra price.

i was really impressed but then I read it was at 50 yards.

Its a good group for sure, but it will open up at 100.

I'm expecting an above average group though, for sure.

**edit**

also, isnt having a pistol on crown land illegal?

I did qualify expert in the Army, but I will admit I am not that great of a shooter. With my M1A and match ammo, I sometimes get 1 MOA or less (with 3 shot groups), but most of the time, my 3 shot groups go between 2 to 3"

With 20 rounds down range (using my pre-Marstar configured M1A and SA ammo), I usually get all 20 in 5-6" groups @ 100 yards. That group in the picture is less than 2" @ 50 yards, so I would expect her to open up to about 4" @ 100 yards, still more accurate than usual (for me) :)

There is no crown land in the US.

Complainers come with the territory.... Who once said, "you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time" ?
We have been in the mail order busines in Canada for almost 25 years, offer a warranty second to none, do some people really think we would risk that by offering questionable products ?
Thanks for your support
John

I think it is awesome that people in the US are finally jealous about a rifle we can have and they can't. Now if we could only get the norinco .308 version of the SVD?
