I had a very late No5 and it had an un-numbered mag. Bayonets have been scarce since the Sterling/C2 was turned in.

so whats its story, where did it come from to make it to you?

The rifle belonged to an elderly gentleman in Southern Texas for "a very longtime".

Unfortunately for health reasons he needed to downsize and a FFL friend of his offered the Rifle for sale.

There is one other Item I obtained during the transaction. A REL Observing Scope complete with tripod and case....

Interesting to note the the FFL's son is an author on the K98k
