my mini Sendero

was out shooting my 30-06 today, I call it the Sendero mini, as it reminds me of a scaled down version of a 700 Sendero

with 168 grain Nosler J4 match bullets over enough IMR 4831 to do 2820 fps avg, it shoots around 3/4" at 100 meters, and the only three shot group I tried at 300 meters was 2.06" (required 4moa lift from +1" @ 100m to be close to dead on at 300m)

Still gotta try my grizz loads

Im ambidextrous and can shoot either way but my left eye is alot clearer than my right so from the bench I mostly shoot left unless I'm with a buddy and we're sharing the rest

Play it Smart

Tod, I love that gun. But I am dismayed to hear you intent to use it on grizz.

Frankly, I have never hunted and do not know weather the 30-06 is suitable for these furry monsters. But I think you are overlooking something at the core of hunting.

When you buy a gun like this, tell the misses it is for deer. There are lots of books and magazines that will tell you the 30-06 is inadequate for grizz.

Show the wife a couple or these articles, and you have a ready-made justification for a 338 or 375. Your story should be, “the 06 is for deer and the magnum is for grizz.”

Tell the misses that you need a magnum to take out the grizz, or maybe you will not survive to see your kid’s next birthday. You need another gun not for yourself. Rather, you need a magnum to insure you are there to safeguard junior's future.

See what I mean? You got to play it smart or the misses will crack the whip and say "no" to new toys.

yep you nailed it, it started life as a CDL SF Ltd with the walnut stock which I swapped for the Bell & Carlson medalist. Bullcoon bedded it, and it seems to shoot. Like I said before I dont think I have a hundred rounds through this gun yet, and havent even begun any sort of load development. This ammo I shot yesterday was stuff I had loaded for my 700 Ti 30-06 I had last year. Seems to work ok

Since I got this rifle Ive only bought three others, so apparently I do need more
