My "new" .300H+H M70.

.300

Yes Demonical. CRF late 1990's. Think I've had 4 or 5 .300H+H's over the years including a 1954 Winchester I should have kept.

Hi there NAA, yes have to get you trained up on my route so I can sneak away from work last week November.

Thinking of having a new Super-Grade or Featherweight re-barrelled to 7X57 as I'm not likely to find a real pre-64 in that caliber.
Cheers
Geoff

Nice looking rifle. I had a similar one done on a standard crf sporter--just had the .30-06 barrel re-chambered to 300 H + H and then replaced the mag box and follower with one from a .375 H and H. cut back the ejector until it would feed smoothly--which it now does. It shoots 1" to 1.25" with Nosler 180 partitions. It has taken 2 elk and one moose for me.

I like it better than the pre-64 I had and the Remington 700 and the push feed M-70 that I previously owned.

Just picked up a Browning/fn mauser in .300 H and H to restore--so will have to see how it does.

The m-70 classic in .300 H+H and my pre-64 that I had re-bored and chambered for .35 whelen are my favourite hunting rigs.

Hope you enjoy it.

I had originally planned to have a .30-06 re-chambered, but Jason was un-able to find a reamer. I just happened to have a line on the .338 SG so that's the route I went.
Here's my .35 Whelen M70. Custom stocked 1938 Super-Grade re-chambered/bored to .35Whelen sometime in the past. I carried it for the first time this September and got this 6X6 Elk, a 4X4 Muley and a black bear.

Purdy gun! .300 H&H is a classy choice, too. Lots of power right from the factory, with a bunch more left in it for the reloader to play with (or leave the pressures on the low side and never think twice about feeding/extraction problems).
