Okay, here she is. I have been waiting for a long time for this one, and I just got her home and dressed up with a Leupy 2x7 (that I have had waiting). May I introduce to everyone, my new Ruger M77 Hawkeye chambered in 358win.:D:rockOn:

No chance to shoot her yet, but I will post results when I get a chance to get out to the range...man, I wish it wasn't so far away!

Cheers,

I would bet that rifle would look really good with a brown laminate stock. It's nice as is , but could be upgraded very easily.:wave:PS,I see Mark has made it to your house with the bedliner spray can......

hows the trigger my mk.2 has lots of creep and is pretty heavy. i like that finish it looks like it's more of a matte that the mk.2 all-weather. and i hope they did away with that flat bottomed part of the fore end too, that just feels kinda weird

I may look at a laminate in the future, but for now I will shoot her the way she is with the tupperware stock. No, Mark hasn't been here yet - that's the way it comes from the factory. Besides, Mark would be after my stainless Guide Gun with the bedliner.:D

So far, I find the trigger is much better than the old MKII. I actually thought it would be better than it is, but I will give it the true test at the rifle range.

The finish is a nice matte finish on the stainless, but I think the bead-blasting process carried over into the action area. I am going to spend a bit of time with the dremel and polish the bolt slide area to smooth it out.

The stock is the full contour - not like the 'canoe paddle' of the early MKII's. I actually prefer the 'canoe paddle' stock to these new tupperware stocks - although the new recoil pad is quite nice - it feels like a decelerator.

That's true, I'm not going to let him see my GS either ....:D

James,

That is a real beauty! :)

I'm just pondering whether to buy one of the Hogue Overmolded ones, in .270 Winchester.

Jeff.
