My new .50 Beowulf

I have a couple of the 50 BW polymer mags. They fit about 5.8 rounds of 50 BW and technically 18 of 223. That being said, the follower started to jam against the rivet on the 17th and 18th round, so I consider 16 rounds to be the feasible 223 capacity. An added benefit is that because the rivet is so far down the magazine, you don't have the issue of the rivet jamming in the mag-well that you can experience with 5/30 round 223 magazines without flush rivets.

Haven't been able to use them at the range yet, but I will give you all an after action report when I do.

Try some G96 or similar to lubricate the follower. I had problems with mine sticking but that seemed to do the trick.

Thanks. Will try that. Seems like there is a fair amont of friction on the follower.

And just to tease the masses, here is what you can expect:

Are these mags coming from Armtac or is there some other source I'm confused. Obviously if people want to keep the source on the down low I understand (although if someone wanted to PM me some info I wouldnt be opposed to it) but I would just like to know if these are coming from Armtac or not.

One question and one suggestion.

Will you let us know here when and how to pre order. Will you please consider a limited number per customer so the first 3 guys don't wipe you out.

Moe

great idea, dont need blaxsun wiping the whole order clean. :p

Anything after the first 100 are fair game. ;) Actually, I'm just messing with you - I'm only planning on picking up 3 or 4. I don't have any problem with a max/per to ensure as many people as possible have a chance to snag a few. It's not like there won't be more shipments down the road for anyone who wants to "top up"...

Has anyone tried loading full length .223 handloads in one of these yet? According to the manufacturer, the internal dimensions of the magazine limit the OAL to 2.15

This pretty much rules out long range handloads.

"Due to the design requirements of this magazine, our factory-loaded 350g Millennium brass spitzer, 385g Millennium brass hollow-point, and 400g Hawk flat-point will not fit in this magazine. For the reference of our ammunition reloading customers, the maximum overall round length that will fit in this magazine is 2.15 inches."

It's certainly 'snug' inside the magazine, so while I don't have any handloads to try - I'm inclined to agree with your assessment.
