Give me an hour or two and I will go measure the internal length with a caliper.

Hmmm, so much for service rifle then...

On the plus side, that pretty much makes it a slam dunk for NOT being designed for .223, and avoiding the potential hassle once word really gets out on these...

Just sucks for us guys who like 69/75/77 grain loads.

I've only tried it with 55-grain PMC thus far, but I can try some of the Hornady 75-grain and Black Hills 77-grain to see how they fare. I could be entirely wrong, too.

Just had a look. The 2.15 limit is the limit for the 50 BW due to the ridge running down the mag. It's the ridge that would run between the two stack of 223, but since 50 BW is single stack it get in the way for the 50 BW cartridge. I loaded some 77gr Black Hills 223 with a OAL length of 2.245" and they appear to fit fine.

Good call. Lubed up the follower and ridges, and 18 rounds appear to load and unload fine without sticking. Haven't been able to cycle it through a firearm yet to make sure.
 
I found with the GI mags I had to shorten my reloads up just a bit vs LAR or PMAGs to fit and load properly.

None. And we actually debunked the PMAG/bolt hold open thing on the Tavor. Even with a Surefire 60-rounder (which was the worst offender, by far) - there was still 1-2mm clearance. It should also be noted that the 5.56mm version of these magazines is now the standard for the IDF, so if there were any problems...

So you are telling me I don't have to use those POS metal mags anymore in my Tavor?
 
Beautiful, I've been following this thread and I'm kicking myself now for not picking up a couple mags before thery were sold out. I'll take 5 when they are back instock.
 
You know back in the 80's when I bought my first AR15 I remember ammo costing a lot when I (and more often my friends) would load up a full mag and just go blasting (cause that is what teens with an AR15 did). This cost me an awfull lot of money even when a box of 223 was $4 at a gun show. I see my ammo budget taking another jump... but i'm pleasently happy about that :)
