I found couple of Kropatschek rifles, both complete, one in good shape and other in very sorry but solid state.Pretty decent prices for both IMHO.
I didn't get any-i did a research on getting brass for it some months ago and nothing came up and I'm not about to buy something I can't shoot
Someone had interesting Gew88 in not so good condition but shooter and complete.
I will have to see this one again perhaps...
The owner, may have picked it up back in the seventies, for $25 and didn't realise how much they have appreciated in value. Mind you, if we don't get in some cheap as dirt surplus ammunition, you may just see those prices happen on a steady basis.
the rifle is a 1943 izzy. afriend of mine and an authority on all things shooty says that the reciever is a former hex reciever that was ground down to round. the reciever is rough but the bore has cleaned up quite well i will shoot it as soon as I get a new extractor. range report to come.
Ive never heard of this, have any close up pictures? What is the date on the reciever tang? Are you sure it just isnt a really rough reciever, which are typical of 42-43 Izhevsk's
