Hey Folks!

After months of research and speaking with dozens of people more experienced than myself, I finally made a decision. Pretty hard to find the exact rifle in the calibre and finish I have wanted, but after much searching I did it!

Sako A7
Synthetic / Stainless Steel
30-06
Burris E1 Fullfield 3x9 scope

I also got a box of Winchester Power Max 150 grain shells to sight it in. Besides reading the owners manual for break in procedures, does anyone have any experiences or tips to offer?

Looking forward to getting out and hitting the range. Though, I'll be in Red Deer this weekend and don't believe there is a public range in the area. Any chance there is one like Homestead Range out west of Calgary, but up in the Red Deer area?

Green If the box of Winchester ammo you bought shoots well (good group) go back to the store and buy all the boxes from the same lot you can afford. I've seen so many people buy the cheapest box of ammo they could find to site in their rifle then go buy some other brand to hunt with. Later they find the ammo they bought to hunt with has a different point of impact. In some rifles the point of impact can be considerably different. I've seen as much as a foot difference in a couple rifles. You just never know til you try it.

nice rifle man, looks the goods.

whats the difference between a fullfield II an a E1 fullfield?

I think them Sakos will shoot a variety of ammo into good enough groups for hunting purpose, think they are advertised for a MOA accuracy guarantee?

That's a good point that I'll keep in mind. I did buy a different type as well to see the difference. If the power max shoots well I'll likely get more from the same vendor.

Sako's do have a MOA guarantee, so I'm hoping it'll be a tack driver after I sight it in Monday.
